The gas is mixed with oxygen in the valve and the pilot light to provide the proper air-fuel ratio which allows to burn efficiently. If the burner flames are too high or low, or reflect an orange color instead of a bright blue, you can adjust to help the appliance to operate safely and more effectively.

Insert the tip of a nail or small pin in each of the holes around the perimeter of the burner to remove obstructions that may reduce effectiveness. Unscrew the small plate that covers the pilot light on the appliance.

Insert the tip of a flat blade screwdriver into the screw above or beside the hole in the gas valve on the pilot light. Turn the screw in the direction of clockwise to decrease the oxygen with natural gas fire pit.
